They are mainly used for data recovering, for ex. in case you record a data cd with direct cd (from adaptec). The proggie (direct cd) isn't stable, and you dont even know when it will burn the way you want. Because you put the cd in the drive, and it seems it's blank...

I read the program's site and I think some of them are free... Well Thankx Bye Bye
