I'm about to purchase an XONE mixer. I'm having a tough time with XONE 62 vs XONE 32. Everyone always talks about how cool the VCF controls are. I've never even seen one myself. But I notice there is a difference between the 2 mixers in this respect. Can someone explain the difference as far as VCF's go on these two? Thanks any info would be appreciated.

The xone 32 is a 3 ch and the 62 is a 4 ch. Both are deadly.

No, the xone:62 is 6 channels.
The actual VCF on the 32, 62 and 464 are the same, except that the 32 has an additional LFO (low frequent oscillator) control. That oscillator is used to make the filter sweep by itself. The 32 also contains memories so you can store LFO+VCF settings easily. Other than that, the actual VCF sounds the same.

I would mainly think the big difference you should consider between the 32 and 62/464 is the 4th EQ band on the bigger brothers. Just try, and you'll see you'll never want to return to 3band EQ afterwards.

also, on the 32 the filter is applied to the whole out I believe, where on the 62 its per channel that you chose.

if you have the cash, go for the 62.. IMO the creme de la creme, simply the finest mixer i have used. now if u need that 4th ch then just save for the 62. of course having a 4band EQ is great, but unless u use EQ's alot, then it isn't necessary. EQ buffs (myself included) however will love the expanded control and find going back to only 3band eq is kinda restrictive but none the less, more than enough to do a good job. so really, it should boil down to a financial decision. for myself, i'd love a 62, but can't afford it, so im most likely going for the djm3000, (i could go for a 19" and i need the 4ch, i just wont have the 4band eq, but i can get the pioneer much cheaper.. which is too bad because Allen & Heath makes a superior sound...

Well for people like you there's still the option of external EQ's. Elextrix had killer ones, but they got bankrupt, but word goes that you can get the EQkillers very cheap in the US.

can some one post a sample of what these filters sound like?

i played with these mixers at the store but i didnt have it turned up enough

you can assign the vcf to whatever channel you want on the 32 (or a combination of them)

i believe the only difference are that the 32 has a horizontal slider for the vcf, and the 62 has a knob

also the 62 has two vcf controls (so i guess you can have two different vcf settings playing at the same time on two different channels)

and the 32 has the lfo & setting preset buttons

ok thank for all the responses, I guess I'm unsure how important 4 channel would be for me??! the 62 uses a knob instead of a slider I'm not to keen on the knob has anyone used both?? Anyway money is of no concern but I think the 464 would be overkill. So sounds like the 62 is the way to go.
