"He is a friend of mine. He is not a moron at all," the prime minister said."

Well, it was one of Chetiens aids that was responcible for that verbal blunder. A total lack of tact even if Bush isn't the brightest of the bunch.

President Bush May Be "Moron": Stupidity Experts

TORONTO, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - A high-ranking federal
official may be correct in an
assessment of US president George Bush as "a moron" say
a group of Canadian stupidity experts.

"Technically, a moron is someone who is stupid but
looks normal," said Albert Nerenberg, a Toronto-based
film director who is completing a television
documentary titled Stupidity.

A controversy has erupted over newspaper reports that a
top Canadian federal aide called Bush a "moron" for his
hard-line stance on Iraq at the current NATO meeting in
Prague.

"Much has been said recently about Bush arriving at a
point where he looks presidential," said Nerenberg.
"What's intriguing about morons is that they can pass
as just about anyone, but inside they're still morons."

The original term moron was coined by an American
Psychologist in New Jersey during the early part of the
century. Moron was added to the US version of the IQ
test to screen out people who looked intelligent but
weren't. A moron was considered to have an IQ between
50-75.

"Sadly, we may be the world's only current stupidity
experts," said Shannon Brown,
producer of Stupidity and an executive at
Trailervision. "There is very little true research on
the important subject of stupidity, and the only
self-proclaimed expert, James Welles, a Florida-based
author, was recently arrested on serious charges for
doing something extremely stupid."...

http://commondreams.org/headlines02/1122-03.htm

Stupidity features interviews with Noam Chomsky, John Cleese, Bill Maher and former Bush speechwriter David Frum, and is being commissioned by the Documentary Channel and the CBC. A trailer for Stupidity can be found at www.trailervision.com

All these canadian joke posts towards american politics just looks sad Guess you guys are making the best out of a shitty situation.

Like I said in other posts, we cant all be that dumb, you can poke fun, and say whatever you wish about the U.S. political leader, or the people, but in a non-geographical sense, we all still know whos on top. Somebody has to be doing something right.

Overall this thread was pretty pointless. I'm sure everyone in North America has already heard about this, and well, apparently a Canadian political leader said it, which makes it hard to take offense to.

well.. i joke about canadian politics too, i would post pictures of the premier of my province, everyone hates him. but i don't think most americans would have a clue who he is, so it would be pointless.

this is a political forum, and as such, i will talk about politics. it just so happens that the USA has the most well known leader, as well as the most powerful. he is going to be the butt of jokes, it's a fact of life.

i don't think all americans are dumb, not at all. I think that george bush IS a moron though. However, it was not smart of a political aide of our PM to say so. she lost her job over it.

as for america being on top well..

I heard about an American politician who (I think it was Tom Daschle or some Republican) who called Canada "Soviet Canuckistan" LOL! and criticized how we see ourselves as superior to Americans morally and all that. I sort of agree. In Canada we have yet to classify Hesbollah as a terrorist entity "because they have a charitable wing" even though they spend most of their time slaughtering jews. Also, I just found out one of the people involved in the Bali bombing where many Aussies and a couple Canadians were killed (his name is Mohammed Mansour Jabarrah) and he weny to my high school!

Ok sorry I'm way off topic

ah exactly that! thing is, they are CANADIAN, hence they cant really do much of anything to change anything that has to do with Pres. Bush so they resort to what is left, activism - to the point of ridiculusness which consists of only one (fairly strong) point of view, which I may add, originates from mainly un-credible sources.

Guys
Just because Bush is a moron doesnt imply that Americans are morons too. You guys are getting worked up about nothing. Most countries do think Bush isnt exactly bright, but arent willing to start commotion with a comment in regards to that(cept for one top aide to Canadian PM). I do schooling in michigan, but even for most Americans I know...they do believe Bush is in fact a moron. How be came to power is still trivial, and look closely, he has NOT done anything meaningful in his presidency except call unnecessary attacks. What exactly did bombing Afghanistan back into the 19th century do for the war on terrorism? NOTHING. In fact, Al Qaeda is still stronger than ever. So guys, think about...with BUSH on our side..who exactly is winning? Cuz we certainly arent.
