i use ACID Pro to render mp3 tracks into wavs so i can burn it onto cds.
when i bring up the track, the dB level is usually on -0.5dB. default. sometimes i just put it on 0.0dB to even it out. The most I have ever set it on is +1.5dB or 2.0 for mp3s that sound really low.
what is the recommended dB level when rendering an mp3 into a wav.?????

dont use sound forge, use something like d b power amp, the codec is better than the one in sound forge anyhow....... (www.dbpoweramp.com).
anyhow, you can just burn mp3's in nero.....no need to convert to wav if you dont want to...

I render all my waves at -0.1... just do NOT put it over zero.
