Best techno duo ever!!!!!!
Oh god, where do i start?
Well the night started for me a little earlier than what was originally planned (10:30 or so) and we arrived to a somewhat dull crowd and Greg Gow playing a decent set of hard techno. I thought (like many others) it was a little TOO hard to open a party. I started rollin around 11:30 or so, and i got really fucked up so my memory is quite fuzzy! One thing that really sticks out in my mind is the second Sven stepped up to the decks. His first track he played was SICK but then he followed it with a few lacking tunes that had me worried for a second. He redeemed himself throughout the rest of his set that ALMOST reminded me of a style i heard when Mauro laid it down at System. Funky, bangin, electro, buildups, he had it all goin on. Sven delivered hard shit towards the end and finished off the set well (i especially liked when richie came on and the were both fuckin with the eq's during on build up!!)
Then......without any warning, Mr. Plastikman himself blessed us with something i cant even describe. Not toying with his usual effects that id been used to.....just pure raw techno. The crowd was bannanas. During his set i had the privlege of meeting Sven Vath, and thanked him for blessing me with such a great night! Even posed for a pic with him, and i cant wait to see how it turned out (thanx Mot10n). Richie played til around 5am, and all the sudden, done. I was expecting the party to go on a little longer, and i think im not alone when i say this. Evidence of this.....when we left the club, outside there was this crazy bum outside bangin the fresh beats on a plastic garbage can!!! I dont know if i was just trippin, but man did he sound good!!! Best track he played, Another One Bites The Dust!!! Too funny.
Skipper - nice to party it up with you again. i was lookin for the i love techno shirt, but still ended up finding you in the end. i had a blast dancin up a storm. remember when richie turned up the bass and it actually made our chest vibrate!??! bannanas.
Dj-HordASH - wicked meeting you guy. you sure know how to party hard. im surprised the soles of our shoes didnt melt lastnight from all that groovin. we shall do this again REAL soon.
Tatgirl - what can i say, the legends were out in full force lastnight! im quite interested to see this crazy pic you took with sven lastnight?!? thanks for having water at all the times i was ready to die of dehydration.
Mot10n - remember that part in svens set when i called that fucked up bassline!?!! INSANITY!!!! was totally lovin it. those pics u took lastnight looked like they turned out lovely. im excited to see the on of me and sven!! please post asap!!
If there was anyone i forgot, please forgive my stupidity. And thanks for all that i did mention for a fuckin legendary night.
Im out.

wow.
wow is right. i came there for vath, and that's what kicked my ass. omfg, i loved every single track he played. he sure knows how to craft a bangin set: chill, less chill, more bass, louder, louder, bangin track, more more more, effects effects.... BOOOOM!!!! crazy behind the decks, WOW!. i had such a great time, not even one drink while i was there! craziness! hawtin sounded sic, but by that time all my enegy was spent, and i chilled for a while with a kawaii japanese girl
but wow, turbo was definately different than i expected... upstairs, low ceiling, MAD HOT... argh.... but all in all it was a crazyfun time. nat, was that you who boosted me up by my ass to get sven to sign the stuff? hehe, thanks hordash, wow man, you are the man. i can tell you had a sic sic time, both while dancing and while getting #'s... fucking pimp, lol. busting out those dance moves too, wtf. crazy man crazy! you were havin a ball i am still not sure about sat, but i'll let your know. technoaddict, geez, you really know your shit. when you called out that bassline, omfg, CRAAZY!!! glad you had a great time!! every time i looked over, you were smiling that's what i like to see
and about the pics, i should be able to get around to posting them either saturday (after work) or sunday (after work) cuz i know you guys are eager to see them i am too (i just got home from a local club's trance night, and i am still feeling it... cafe del mar - energy 52, mauro - verdi, pvd - for an angel... luvin it, luvin...) and i haven't been able to view them yet... so sit tite for now
but yeah, seriously, from the footage i saw from mysteryland 2k2, i knew sven vath wasn't to be missed, and fuck yeah, i was right he just oozed craziness throughout his set, it boosted my enegy level huge every time he smiled back at the crowd, instant rejuvanation.
damn all in all a kick ass night.
tatgirl - thanks so much for lettin me chill at your place. sorry for that awkward moment at the start... hehe, i'm a youngun you know i hope everything went well with the surgery, i'll call tomorrow to know first hand. but seriously... : get rid of some of your clothes! wtf! too many! ... oh yeah... try to stay off your ass for a bit, or at least cool it down! that's at least 10 degrees higher than your body temp! man, crazy huge props to nat for partyingf it up one lat time with the legends. and just for the record, i'm sorry, i couldn't stop staring at your tits, haha
peace out all,
Ken

Great reviews from everyone. Skipper- didn't meet ya even tho I thought you'd be there. I think u may have even stood in front of me, but when I asked techno addict if any other TA's were there, he did not mention you- I guess I should've been more specific. BTW, good eyes technoaddict! Glad u spotted me in the crowd.
I have never been one to complain about the sound at Turbo, but that changed Thursday. I think there were only 2 stretegic points were the audio was ok- the rest was shit. The worst was up front- the bass so loud, my throat was coming up, and kept needing to swallow. The drunk idiots were out in full force that nite too. Dumb idiot in the baseball cap that kept screaming "Sven Fucking Vaaaaaaaaath", which pushing between Ken & I, just in case Sven didn't hear him the 264 other times he yelled it out. Then he dropped & broke one if his beer bottles, which poured down Ken's sock. You can take the boy out of the country, but u can't take the country out of the boy.... Then there was the tall guy in the black shirt, who was rolling so hard, he couldn't stand up straight. The netting in front of the DJ booth was lame- bad for picture taking. Luckily, no one cared that we pulled it to the sides.
Didn't really get to focus on Sven's set until I was sure Ken had made it in ok. He got progressively harder, and played many tracks that Mauro has been dropping lately. One track I made sure to find out about was by Pocket Game called "Hard of Noise" on Compact (sp?) Records. Not only was it a crazy tune, but it was THE coolest colored vinyl I've ever seen- crazy picture on it. Sven came and hung out for almost 30 min's after his set, meeting & taking pics with fans. Ken will post the pics up tonite, and you'll see why mine with him was so 'special'.
Richie's set started off incredibly. Unfortunately, my stress level was at 300% that day, and as the night went on, it reached 500%- all I could do was stress about my upcoming surgery. I was SOOO ready to cancel it, especially since every guy at the club was begging me not to do it. So, my attention span to the music faded off. I did notice Hawtin went into a bit of a minimal stage, which didn't interest me much, but was picking up the pace again around 4, but we left shortly after.
My boobies did get lots of lovin' that nite, tho ironically not from any TA's- shame on you! (Ken, what happened to ya? still shy?). Even strangers were grabbing them. Some came around for seconds & thirds.
Can't wait to see the pics. -Nat
