Bpm

how many bpm do you guys usually spin at? and also do you raise the bpm progressively higher throughout your mix or do you keep it steady? tracks like second sun-empire and nu-nrg supersonic are so much faster than other records that when i spin them the pitch is at -3 to -4 which sounds pretty bad.

on another topic, i heard that you can change the red light on the m3ds to a blue one. is this true and if it is where can i get it?

I usually start out around 137 or 138 bpm and gradually move my way up to around 142 or 143 bpm, so some of the faster and more energetic songs are sandwiched.

Yep, you can change the strobe to a blue light. You can actually buy a kit from www.1200s.com. For details on what you'll have to do, if you choose to do it yourself, check out http://www.asisphonics.net/bluelightspecial.html

it depends on what sort of mood i'm in
my bmp ranges from 140-180
but then again, i spin hard house...
as for progessivly speeding up
my sets usually end up a little bit faster then when i started, but i have a few records that do change bpm during the breakdown a little bit
it's usually in the last few records that i pitch it up though

I like to keep it around 142 - 146, unless I'm doing hard house, then I like it at 153- 160. I try to never go to negitave pitch. Usually I start my first record at +4ish.

Like someone mentioned above, you can change the light to a blue one. Check out the pic on below my name, its a 1200 with the blue light.

Now back to subject.. hmm, i spin anywhere from 138-145bpm. Depends on mood.

i don't think it's necessary to count the bpm that you spin at! especially while you are spinning....anyway as for pitching up the tempo, it's usually done at a very slow gradual rate so the crowd won't notice it until you hit your last few banging tracks and the hyped-up beats gets them dancing their asses off!

yea, i will bring the pitch up a little bit, maybe 1/2 a percent during a breakdown, and a little more the next track...
then when i play the last few songs that i usually save to end my set with, they're pumpin
once i post my demo, you'll know what i'm talking about

Never counted it, but I usually start a bit housey, and then go on to some more progressive.. I keep the BPM steady usually..

Should be around 128-133 BPM or so..

oh hell no, i dont count the beats while i am mixing. if i was able to do both at the same time i would be a freaking genius. but yea thanks for the info people, i thought that a little over 140 bpm was fast but some of you guys are crazy.
