main features ar the 3000 having real-time scratch, hot starts, and other stuff i forgot..
the 5000 has various auto-mix functions

The 5000 is made obsolete by the 3000. new features on the 3000 such as the wave display, semi-useful scratch, on-board cue point memory and the "oh-shit" button, which creates an automatic loop when you realise you haven't got your next track ready. Only thing it doesn't seem to have that the 5000 does is the auto-mix function
If they are offered at the same price, I would try to bargain on the 5000, or else definately the 3000.
