Smile PROG vs. NON PROG

Ok....I've kinda had it with elitest prog heads. I mean here is my point of view, if you like prog great and if you don't then great. Why keep bashing ppl over their choices? if you want to see a deejay then go see him or her and forget the rest. Also I feel that certain ppl miss out on other amazing music. I listen to breaks (being a hybrid addict), i listen to trance, tech house, techno and some prog. So my question is?.....why hate. Most progheads are ex tranceheads and then you pretend you never listened to that stuff. I mean like wake the hell up....as I shall point out......TO EACH HIS or HER OWN!

yea.. these debates lead nowhere but cause fury, flame and hate on the boards. personally i think fighting between the 2 is futile cuz it never ends with either side coming to any sort of consensus..

worst part about it is that there will be many more of these wars to come.. it already happened with Gielen vs. John '00' Flemming .. and now Talla2XLC vs. Digweed ..

this is gonna be a looong next year .. (2003)

my prediction.. Dumonde comes to Viva next year the same night as Dave Seaman plays in TO again at Guvernment .. and a huge fight erupts on the boards on TA over who should go where ..

If you're talking about me, I've had to put up with power trance newbie bullshit for the last 3 months. My argument was 'music is a matter of opinion' and keep it at that. I can find the posts if you really want me to. This problem has been a recurring one for quite some time now, my hijacking of the talla thread was just jokes.

I bet you this thread turns into...
- a tiesto tracklist question thread
- a why digweed is boring and not trance argument
- a conversation about nat's breasts
- a discussion about us/canadian politics

It's just the way shit is, I've started to enjoy it because I'm fighting back.

5 zillion dollars says you just opened the biggest can of worms. I can see it now "holy shitz dude-o, I'm only 13 but do you think I can get into Dumonde? I mean I heard Dave Sleamanz is awesome but I think prog is for loserz, I like Dumonds tracks because they don't put me too sleepzzzz zzzzzz."

Yea welcome to last year. Try telling that to the high schoolers who fucking showed up in September. All they talk about is how prog is shit and how they don't understand how we could listen to it. And I do ignore them, but then you can't help but see all of your threads eventually get hacked up at one time or another.

You know what, since I don't see any resolutions coming about from this argument or the larger argument (death trance vs. anything else, which btw is what the thread should of been called).

I say we wage war! hahah Why even both settling, lets just come to terms with the fact that one is better than the other. We'll take times bashing each other, hi-jacking each others threads, and in the end want to kill each other. I mean it could make for a more interesting tranceaddict.

(btw I'm kidding)

This is going way over your head. There isn't one better genre thats why. You just proved my point. I love both, always have. I'm just fedup of the newbies hacking up the normal threads. You keep making reference to liking all these types of music, do I look like I only listen to one type of music. I saw Sasha @ Guv, and PVD @ Roxy the week after. What do you want me to say?

I love Hybrid, I love Gray Area, 16b, Lee Combs, blah blah blah. What does that have to do with the fact that little kids keep blowing their load over a lot of decent threads.
