Well I switched over to 3 because the MMD3 skin looked kickass. Overall 3 works pretty good, but it'll crash every now and then and startup time is a bitch.

Winamp 3 is a completely different program, inside & out. It will not support winamp 2 plugins or skins.. although WA3 is getting developed more and more for it. WA3 supports videofiles, and its gonna make winamp an all-around media player, so it can compete with the likes of Windows Media Player.

Note, that WA3 is really for newer computers- cause its freggin bloated!! And its still got bugs.

Winamp 2 was practically at it's height of what the developers could make of it... as it was just an audio-only player. So I don't see it not being "updated" anymore as much of an issue. It was perfect as it was.

winamp 3 sucks, i have it and it makes my comp crash a lot. i don't like it at all. that's why i got winamp 2. im sticking to the oldies... heh

winamp 3 takes up to much resources on my machine. maybe after i get a newer and beefed up machine, things will change, but i doubt i will ever use winamp 3. 2 rocks

ive found winamp 2 to work alot better on my machine, and mine is pretty new. winamp 3 just takes up way to much space, although it has some nifty features. i suggest sticking with 2 until 3 gets it bugs worked out.

i had winamp3 but and i thought it was utter shit, took up too much resources and.. dunno i just didnt like it. although this was before the full release... but im gonna stick with 2

Definitelly 3.. especially if you have a friend with access to nightly builds that tend to be more stable than what is on their download page.. )
