All you do is set up loop points on your sample. Gradually shorten the loop length (by adjusting the starting or ending point - whichever one you prefer) until the loop is so short that it's basically just a raw waveform. Any sound can be used as a synth by setting a short enough loop.

thats the way most of us would do it. but derb probally used a hardware effects like the lexicon to time stretch, rich bastards LOL
