What is the hardest skill to master as a DJ ? (not counting reading the crowd)

Thinking of technical issues, I have gotten the idea that beatjugging
must be the hardest, yes, no ?

not only the technical skills of a dj are important.. the most important is how you build up your set.. good music choice.. not playing 2 loud.. clean records ..

Yes but I was thinking about technical issues like mixing, scratching,
remixing live and so on.

well if your talking about pure technical skill, then i'd say beat juggling is the hardest

Being a dj isn't just a bunch of transitions during a night. It needs some talent and of course, the crowd pleasure. If the crowd is pleased with the music you spin, then go on. A DJ has to "modify" his set according to the crowd needs (I mean the local neighbourhood DJ, and not pvd or tiesto those are professionals of the music they play and their crowd knows what to expect when seeing them performing live!)

Beat Juggling is not beatmatching/beatmixing at all. It's like scratching... Djing skill tricks that are usually heard only in dj battles like DMC. Beat Juggling is where you have 2 records and you create a new beat by going back and forth from each deck at a fast speed.

Cool

beat juggling is pretty tough, but advanced scrathing is imo rather harder as beatjuggling is mostly 1 handed fader work, whereas good scratching can use both hands, 1 on the vinyl, 1 on a fader/eq. give eddie haliwell sets a listen

Turntablist skills... so many people can mix like our idolized dj's, but not as many can cut and scratch as well as the best turntablists.
