it's at the roxy again? well, i guess that's okie. i haven't been to any other places in ny so i don't know if there's any place better. i just hope it doesn't get as freakingly crowded as it did the last time he played roxy. hey stringfelow; are you and nick going? |
I've seen him play at Twilo (RIP), Sound Factory, Exit, Roxy, and Arc (more about that). It's crowded wherever he plays. Maybe Exit would work if there weren't other parties going on in the other rooms. Also, lots of people would go there just because it's Exit, and not necessarily for PVD. He wasn't allowed to play his usual 6+ hour set either.
The least crowded I've seen for him in NYC was when he played at Arc on a Monday night. I liked that, but with his schedule (8 gigs in 10 days!), I don't think it's going to happen again this time around. Maybe there's a chance, but he would probably have to get on a plane to NY right after his LA gig, given the distance and the time lost by traveling east.
Arc is too small for him on a regular (Fri or Sat) night.
Also, Fridays at Arc is the Be Yourself party - it always happens whether or not Danny Tenaglia is there. I don't think they've ever given up the club for a single night for another event.
