I want to point out many of my opinions, and actions done by Mr. Bush.

First of, whats up with the AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ! ! ! Come on ! this is America, a country full of diversity, where hispanics will make 50% of the US population in 2010, where equal rights live on and so on. Mr. Bush has just signed one of the most controversial to date topic .. in which it surely gives some kind of descrimination sentiment, this goes to all foreigners, minorities and so on. This will perjudicate all of those foreigners and minorities.

Secondly, Bush's raiting has gone down the plump, to 58% , back to where it had to be , which is how it was before the 9/11, but that changed his job a bit and gave him luck in his security politics, but now, it has gone down back again. Why is Bush so on attackin Iraq, wehre the UN said themselfs that they are mad since they arent receiving any US or Britains help in means of intelligence, information , but, the US still goes and says that they want to attack, sending thousands of soldiers, friends of mine, not knowing what their next stop will be. Why is Bush punshing Saddam and giving North Korea flowers, with them admiting producing Nuclear Weapons and getting out of the Nuclear pact .. COME ON ! ! its obvious and clear that theres far more then defending and terrorism in Bush's mind when it means OIL .. uhum sorry, IRaq.
Why isnt BUSH , or better yet, why hasent BUSH hasent named Osama bin Ladin ?!? ! OOooohhhh.. he needs war to get the economy going .. right, what a good president, and example of GOODNESS that is .

Thirdly, Mr. Bush, the economy is one of the worst to date , 100,000 unemployed and rising, but , there seems to be no help, nor focus from our president, but, all he knows to do and can do is send more troops and spend more money, as well cuting taxes, as if that would pump the economy, come ON ! we are NEAR WAR ! who wants to spend that money that many ( riches ) will get that tax money back ..

Florida, is now on a debt of 16 million dollars, with Jeb Bush re-elected, both BUSHES are bringing one of the highest unemployment rates, one of the worst economies to date ... Bush's rating is going DOWWWN .. no sign of going up, and with his latest move on affirmative action, I see no good for his administration.

2004 will soon come, I just hope that things get better, and someone intelligent enough that could at least take care for the good and wants of the people in America, this is no way to live .

It's a little chilling to compare the similarities with the movie "Wag the Dog" to what's going on now, at least in the sense of diversion. Bush is a puppet of big corporate gurus, nothing less. He is their bitch, plain and simple. They smell oil, he intervenes for them.

If he can just keep us alive for 2 more years, we can get a much more level-headed president in the office.

Actually i found that movie almost verbatem with what Bill CLinton did during the Monica Lewisky scandal , idont really see too many similarities to it now.

Ok onto the afermative action bill im glad he did it its about time. A/A is blantant reverse discrimination.Equal rights??? how is it equal its discrimination and its scary. Look at it this way, if 2 individuals are up for the same job and the minority gets the job not because he is better suited it for but because hes a minority, thats wrong. Now take that same scenario make it a job for a doctor, who do you want operating on you? The qualified person or the guy who got the job because of A/A?
The economy is bad but how can you blame a man when it isnt his fault. This downfall has been a longtime comming. The boom of the 90's which so many like to claim was the democrats responsiblity is a much their doing as Al Gore inventing the internet. During the 90's the internet took off , PC sales skyrocked which triggered the boom in the tech market. That gave more high paying jobs spread the wealth and inflated stock prices to unheard of places. But what happened? The majority of those internet companies werent making any money but their stock was rising in price.The common Joe seeing all this money being made in the market invested foolishly for the quick buck. The rug was pulled out when the truth came out that these companies werent making any money. Stocks become wothrless, people loss jobs, less money is being spent. This happened in 1998-1999 and its effect is still happening.
Economics is a tricky thing to manipulate in your favor in such a grand scale. There is not a single thing any president could do right now that would have an immediate effect on the economy and help everyone.Especailly when you have a congress run by the opposition who is trying to fight your every move.
I am not 100% pro Bush but i think hes taking more shit then he deserves. He is my President and my Commander in Cheif.

If you wanna jump on a state for screwing up look west young man California Mr. Davis, how can a state loose 47% of its registered sex offenders? They are unaccounted for, these are people who rape woman and molest children. Not to mention if you look at the top 10 worst performing school districts in the country who has more spots then any other state.

Im curious as to how old you guys are? Im 29, im in the marines on leave from afghanastan waiting to be deployed to the middle east in a few weeks

Actually, Juzfug, in the part where you said that people started investing on stocks, thats one of Bush's idea, invest on stock, that was and is one of his ideals, as it was , supposedly, the best way to get a good profit.. but the stock is never a 100% good turn out, so I totally disagreed on investing my money on it. Look at it today

Now, with what yo explained, the big boom and so on, its true, yes it is, but the effect that its heaving now its so big, its not even funny, that so called downturn is not suppost to be like it is now, record lows, and Bush is not even moving a finger about it.

The same thing is happening to when Bush the first was president, the same exact thing, his ambition to go to war .. and is careless about the countries current recession. Thats probably the main reason why he didnt get re-elected.

Also, Bush's administration is showing no interest on Latin America, not that its a big factor, but in some way or another, its showing a lot of dis-interest from the USA to that currently on crisis region.

A lot of you are stating that the US economy is in a horrid state and this is the principal reason for a war with Iraq. In order to give a "boost to the economy." First of all, the state of the US economy is NOT all that bad as you make it out to be. The economy is NOT in a state of recesion. A recession is defined as when an economy's change in GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is negative. If you look at annual changes in GDP the US hasn't been in a state of recession at all during this latest economic crisis! Yes there have been recessionary quarters in 2001 but as a whole 2001 still had a positive GDP growth. And the current change in GDP for 2002 is 3.8%! Hardly the state of an ailing economy as you all describe. The boom of the 90's is over, yet the economy is still strong. Even the US has to go through the business cycle. If you think the economy is bad now thank god you never experienced the 70's and 80's. A period when we were suffering from stagflation, when not only was the economy stagnant but we were experiencing inflation as much as 20%!!! You wanna know what inflation was for 2002? 2.4%!!! The US economy is still in excellent shape. The problem lies in consumer confidence not productivity.

Secondly Unemployment is NOT all that bad. The current rate of unemployment is 5.8%. It was 7.5% in 1992, 9.7% in 1982, and 8.5% in 1975. In 1995 the unemployment level was a mere 2 tenths of a percent lower than it is now. Yes it is higher than it was in the 90's but the natural unemployment level (taking into account frictional and structural unemployment) is naturally around 5%. Thus we are only .8% away from full employment. Compare this to unemployment levels in Europe that are in the high single digits or even in the double digits.

Finally why does everybody equate war with economic success? If so why aren't countries in Africa swimming in and shitting cash??? Why was the US going through a recession in the 70's when we were at war with Vietnam?? Yes there is a chance that war increases a country's productivity but there are better, more efficient, ways to achieve the same goal. Imaginary money from the magical war fairy doesn't just flow into a country the minute it starts a war.

Im sorry I really have to take issue with this, first as i stated i am in the military and that report is justly false typical liberal media propaganda. Bush cant dictate who goes in where by race, do really want to know why there are so many minorities in the military?

Personally if i could id pull out my m16 and shoot the next person who tries to tell me this is all about oil. Lest you forget a little conflict in that region 12 years ago called the gulf war? Under the terms of surrender that Iraq signed they agreed to specific things so we wouldnt invade their country. fast forward 12 years later these stipulations they signed and agreed to havent been met yet.

My friend will be going to the marines soon, and well, and that was logical about the minorities part, but, my point was that they are the first in line to go on and attack , but w/e . Im not sure on this, nor want to contradict occrider, but I thought that unemployment was up to 7% close to 8%.

Another thing, the US economy is not far from a DEFICIT. With the Clinton administration, the US had a SURPLUS ! , meaning, gaining more then loosing, now is the opposite, the US is loosing more then its gains, meaning that if the economy goes as it is, we will soon face a DEFICIT , a shortage in money, and thats when the US will start selling bonds and so on. My point actually was that Bush's administration is really not doing much about, and that the samething happened with Bush the 1st, and its one of the reasons why he didnt get re-elected.

The countries in africa aren't full of cash because they aren't producing their own weapons, but are instead buying them from foreing countries like the US. And if I'm not mistaken the 70s recesion was due to the lack of oil, and not the war. Also, there was a very strong anti-war movement. The fact that there are better ways of boosting economy, and that this way is highly risky as it is, shows only that Bush is not a good leader.

And what was that war 12 years ago then about? Oil. And this war will be basically finishing up of what's started in the first one. I really doubt US is doing it for anything else than it's own interests. No normal government would do it. So let's see what the US interests in the area could be. They're either self defense, political domination or economic gain. Now, it's not about self defense, because Iraq can in no way harm the US. It doesn't have missiles of long enough range, and has not attacked US forces after the gulf war outside it's own borders. It also has no signs of nuclear program. It only has chemical agents sold to it by the US. And even that is questionable because inspectors found none of it so far. So it's about one of the other two things. Since the US influence in the area is also pretty well secured, control of Iraq can be useful, but it's not crucial. Not important enough to start a war anyways. So we're left with economic interests, and guess what Iraq has in abundance, and it's not sand?
