Dunno Does it really matter what cd-decks to buy?

I unleashed my wallet on 2 technics, and a pioneer DJM600, and basically I have no money atm for the pioneer cd-decks, which run $1000 a piece. I was thinking about American DJ with one of their dual setups for around $300 US Dollars. Is this a sufficient setup or should I wait and get something better?

Peace,

Steve

I myself should stick with the TTs for a while, until you have enough money to buy decent decks. No need for buying elcheapo's now, and have to return them in a few months because they're not OK.

Maybe you could try and go for Gemini CDJ-20, I heard good things about those ones and they're way cheaper than Pioneers..

u just win the lotto or something? y dropping almost 4-5,000 bux on dj equipment all at the same time? thats insanity, or ur just real rich, but if u feel the need to have a professional studio setup in ur bedroom, just get a credit card and get ur cdj1000.. and while ur at it pick up a crown amp and cerwin-vega cabs and sub.. haha ok now im just playin'. u should look into either sticking w/ TT's for now, or pick up something cheaper than the pioneers, take a look at the new Numark cdn-90, they look cool and have tons of features, and are about 200 less than the pioneer, or checkout any of the cds, theres a million cd decks that cost less than half the pioneers.

Nah, I'm far from rich, I worked my ass off in the summer of 02' and before that, took a semester off school and worked then. Made killer cash while still living at home. Now I moved to go to college and my job only gets the bills paid with maybe about enough to get 10 vinyls a month. I just want cd-decks because of the access to the hub now and so I can record better live sets, more up to date. Living in the states is very hard to find promo copies, unless I get lucky. Too further my equipment I have a recording-MIA-soundcard and run my live sets through CAKEWALK. All this and I listen to it out of 2 JBL EON 15" monitors. If only I had the cash I had back then to get some cd-decks I'd be putting out greater livesets. Thanks for the feedback, I'll definately save up for better ones, I guess I'm in no hurry now.

Peace,

Steve

dont get AMERICAN DJs or GEMINIs.........work mor and get Pioneers for sure. Because you will get a lot of $$$ when you sell pioneers. I had 2 Gemini CDJ-10s and I got em for like 320 brand new, and I barely sold em for $200 USD.

If you do plan on getting CD decks in the future, I suggest cataloging all your vinyl right now with that soundcard. Each time I receive new vinyl I record the track onto wave in the best quality I can. By doing this I can still have a copy of the track after I've worn/scratch the vinyl. I also edit some of the tracks using the master file.

I dont see the $1000 CD decks as being worth it...

Dont go cheap though, stick with quality. I would recommend anything from pioneer or denon...

The CDJ700's are really nice... good simple functional decks that are compact and portable. ALOT cheap than CDJ1000's, especially on the used market.
