I don't agree with the draft on principle. if you want to fight for your country, then by all means fight for it. if the government can't get enough soldiers to fight, and they have to force people to, then, it's obvious that the majority of the populace does not want to go to war (or at least doesn't have the balls to put their life on the line for it.
as far as women in the military, i think that it should be allowed, and if a draft must occur, men and women should be treated no different. is it true that they bring down morale? i'd like to see your source for that, i would think the opposite, who doesn't like a little female company now and then.
but, that is probably not allowed, maybe that is the reason for the morale drop? in any case, please let me know where you heard that arbiter.

they should be conscripted too, but not put on the frontline where gender really does have a negative effect in dual-sex units. eg. if a female is wounded a male is much more likely to stay with the female soldier until she is cared for, instead of pushing onto the objective if it was a male soldier. this has also been found to be applicable when a male soldier is wounded, a female will feel more compelled to stay and ignore the objective, instead of pushing ahead like she would normally do so if the casualty had been a female.
just put women in all the admin/sissy roles, the kind of positions you'd find ppl like arbiter occupying.

Only an idiot would relocate merely because of the foolish ideas of the masses. By your reasoning, I'd have to move underwater, or to the moon, for there is no society on earth whose majority opinions I would unilaterally agree with. For that matter, society itself would be an unachievable goal, since individual humans have far to diverse a degree of opinions. In the future, I'd highly recommend you actually think things through to their logical conclusions.
Then they are mistaken. Conscrption is slavery by definition. |
So what right does a government have in taxing its citizens? Doesn't that equate to stealing? What right does a government have to set laws? Isn't that an imposition of their morality upon people who may have a differing opinions? In as much as you are being taxed to provide for public finance, and as much as you are forcibly punished for violating societal laws, you are forced to defend society from those that threaten. You can't pick and choose what pertains to your own benefit when you reap the sacrifices of other societal contributions. So unless you would like to relocate to a society that doesn't demand as much from its citizens I would recommend you stop bitching about your inabilities to get away with reaping the benefits, yet experiencing none of the sacrifices, that belonging to our society entails. One other recommendation that I would make would be to band together with those of like minds and get that policy changed. I don't like the thought of being forced into service either but it's a responsibility that you take up in being a part of this society. And in conclusion I would recommend you to think through YOUR thoughts to a logical conclusion and then have somebody else proof read your logic.

If a draft was instated which I don't think it would(most nations have plenty big armys) then I think women should be drafted. I don't think that it would have any negative affect, because if it was deemed that one's gender would get in the way of a mission, then s/he could be trained for something else when drafted, or simply relocated, there are plenty of important people not on the field anyways.
