Totties Pops

I have been wondering for a long while; how many licks does it really take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? I have tried it numberious times, but i either loose count, or get too tempted and bit into it? How many licks does it take until you get to the chocolate center? Anyone with no time on their hands, please help me through this quandary!

i actually did that once, it took a lot of patience. but it was like 700 and some, but i dont know if thats right. somewhere round there sounds about right
