Cool Edit Pro 2.0

What up everyone

I spent all morning trying to figure this program out and its almost 1 o clock and I'm still have problems with it.

I have searched on how to record using this software. I followed the steps for hooking the equipment to the sound card.

I have also follwed the steps to adjusting the levels in the Windows Recording Control Panel.

Everytime I go to press the record button in Cool Edit.....I get nothing.

Can anyone help on how to set this program up to record
Will be on the net for a few hours so I should reply back to messages really quick.....

Thanks

Check if your recording source is activated.
Go to the sound mixer of windows (double click on the little speaker icon in the systray).
There, go options -> properties
Click the record radio button, and see if the right recording sources are checked (if they are not, they won't show up in the recording mixer).
Click ok, you should get a mixer window, but this time for recording purposes. The checkbox of the adequate source should be checked (i guess you are using the line in). If it's not checked it's not record enables. Adjust the slider until you get a good signal (= loudest peak as close to 0 dB as possible, without actually reaching 0 dB itself).

Hope this helps.

Alright, have went to the windows mixer and put it to recording phase....I have selected Line In and turned the volume all the up. I have also set my card to Allegro something......

The meter in Cool Edit only max out at -54

I go to switch to Mic and the meter max out -24

Also, I am able to record in Mic but not Line In

You sure you connected your setup to the line in?
