Help With The Pitch On My Stanton STR8-60

just got it christmas and it seems the pitch is real sensitive ,way more sensitive then the cdj's pitch i have(like a song at +2% on the table is dramaticly faster then the pitch at +2% on my cdj.
just in my head or do i need to adjust my pitch knob somehow?

I had those tables , it really helped me build my skill alot. But they're sooooo fucking touchy it's ridiculous. But if you can master those things, man you could spin on any pair of decks. The only tables that remind me of those are the Vestax Spaceship tables . Just keep it up and get the hang of it, when you spin on other decks it'll be soooo much easier for you. Late,

Armando

Hey jim i got the str8-80s at home, they got a lil more torque which is nice but ur right the pitch is sensitive..

i usually match the beat up then as soon as i start mixing knudge the pitch slightly + cuz i think mine tend to fall back on beats. Plus its easier to slow down the platter then to speed it up(sensitive). But i learned on the stantons. Now i only spin on techs and trust me beatmatching isnt an issue in mixing...

I also have the same problem with my Stanton str8-60 ... it seems that the speed at -3% is actually the same speed as when the quartz lock is on (ie 0%)

It sould be possible to recalibrate, but I'm gonna contact the place I got it from befor taking it apart and trying to fix it myself.

ok here's the deal. STR8-60's are almost always off center. You'll most likely have 2 0 spots. The quartz lock 0 and then somewhere else. Just check the dots on the side of the platter. You can send them back and they will fix them for you. I did.

Yay, I just got mine back, now zero pitch is in the right spot.

There are holes on the bottom of the str8-50 for adjusting the pitch with a precision screw driver. But it's quite sensitive.

I have a Str8-80 and it's a great table, I just have problems with the pitch. It always seems to fall back on beats like someone else said. There's nothing more annoying then getting a track cued up perfectly only to pick up the needle, start the track at the beginning, and realize that it's starting to go behind about 4 beats in. I'm looking into 1200s for the future since most people say pitch accuracy isn't a problem with them.
