where has the best combination of clubs, pubs, shops, cool people, job oppurtunities and a good university, with a good living standard, but not too expensive to live in?

Well sheffield meets most of that list, but it is shit for jobs.
So yr best bet is to live a bit further south and travel up north every weekend, heh. Its called the m1

leeds, it has 2 decent universitys, loads of bars & clubs, has loads of shops, excelelnt transport links (when ariva trains arnt on strike) is down the road from shefield, and theres quite a few jobs as leeds as a city is growing loads

* lots of good shops (voted top 5 places outside london to shop)
* crime is a little high, but choose the right area and living standards are fine.
all in all nottingham is a good place to live.
2 hours and your in london on the train to.
