CHICANE
'Saltwater'
TV THEME FOR TOURISM IRELAND
INCLUDES PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED MIX BY THE THRILLSEEKERS
Featuring Maire Brennan (Clannad)

Xtravaganza Recordings
Release Date: 27th January 2003
'Saltwater' is currently featured on a Global TV advertising campaign for Tourism Ireland. The commercial features a breathtaking array of visual pleasure, reaching out to every home across the country and bringing 'Saltwater' to those who missed out first time round.
2002 sees Thrillseekers create an explosive reworking of the Chicane summer epic 'Saltwater' featuring Maire Brennan of Clannad. The original – featuring the vocals from Clannad's Gaelic classic 'Harry's Game' - notched up 5 simultaneous dance chart No 1's before entering the UK national chart in June 1999, at No 6. The Thrillseekers mixes are set to reawaken the uplifting passion of the original.
The ambient mix is a chilled-out masterpiece. The Thrillseeker’s sound belongs to wholly to the Balearics. As temperatures rise, this is the perfect sunset track - dreamy soundscapes wash gently in the background as the sweeps of the keyboards cascade into Brennan’s flowing, hypnotic vocals. The mix is a tidal wave of spine-tingling, emotive whispers. The down-tempo beats flow gently into your consciousness creating an exquisitely beautiful, blissed-out track - a contrast of chilled vocals with complete spiritual relaxation.
The house mix takes the original up a gear creating a darker, more twisted club sound. The mix is upfront and tantalising but at the same time retains the laid back quality of the original. The breakdown isolates Brenner’s vocals, then with a climaxing percussion, engulfs the listener with an orchestrated array of sonic enchantment. The mix is an outpouring of emotion, the combination of beautiful airy vocals and progressive beats make the Thrillseekers mix a resounding club classic.
