Read This! DJ Class 101 (Word to the wise...)

This is what I don't get...
You're a DJ.
You run your service like a business.
You need to eat. You need a roof over your head (if you live with your mommie and daddie this won't apply).
People complain about a guy (not necessarily Oakenfold) making money.
What's the point of being in a business that doesn't have a favorable ROI?? (Return On Investment).

It's so true about what they say.
The higher up the ladder of success you go; the more your ass is exposed.

Why does a DJ have to stay poor to stay uber-cool and underground?
Is it because money corrupts?
That's the lamest excuse I've ever heard.
Money provides jobs.
You go buy a car; you're creating jobs.
You go out to eat; you're creating jobs.
Giving money to charity helps people.
How many times have we all wished when an angering situation arises that we had the money to make that 'change'.
Money can.
Poor people can't help poor people.

So for those of you that think DJ's should be broke, I got some news for you.
Get some basic business skills but in the meantime be the best you can be; forget the na-sayers.
Evelope and guard yourself with passion for your music; it's only work when you don't feel like doing it.
If you enjoy what you do, time flies and the money will come.
Delayed gratification; learn it.
But in the meantime, stay true and play on...

I don't care how big people get, just as long as they stay true to their roots and to what they know best and do best. If they start being cocky assholes....then that's when I have a problem

Agreed. For ex: Tiësto. Even thought he's more famous than ever, if you look at all his interviews, he really says the truth and acts normal.

Yup...that's what I mean by stayin' true.

Sometimes it's a wonder how people with attitudes can out the door with their fat head...

Agreed. Yet Jokenfold is as much a cocky bastard as he has money. It's not the money he has that pisses me off, it's not jealousy, it's him. Tiesto ownz.

There's nothing wrong with making money if that's what you mean.
A lot of those atheletes donate millions of their dollars to charities, even make up their own causes for charities they believe in.
What? Did you actually think they kept it all?
Hahahahahhahhaha....

That about sums it all up.
If your moving up doing what's true to what you've been doing all the time, then why make bullshit just to make some extra $$ if your making enough as it is??
