Okay, so it's come to my attention lately that my trance, sweet as it may be, is just not POWERFUL enough half the time. I have every respect for the new-school hardstyle (like Hartec), and I also listen to HHC and D&B, but does anyone know what I'm talking about when I say old-school?

I'm thinking for example, the old Rave Mission CDs with almost totally unknown DJs like Andrew Brix, TMM, or Format 1, or some of the first Forbidden Paradise albums (before Tiesto took it over) with tracks like "Opus 5." Or the artists who used to spin crazy shit but then got wimpy, like RMB.

So do any of you guys know what kind of music I'm talking about, and if so, do you know DJs who still spin any of this? Even if it's just a few recommended tracks, I've got a craving for the retro hardstyle lately, so somebody help me out. Thanks.

Geesh, nobody respects the old school anymore...

Nostrum - Blowback is still one of my all-time favourite tracks. Actually all the old Nostrum stuff was wicked! If you can get your hands on any old M-Zone sets, he played all that style. His set from WEMF '96 is still easily my favourite set ever. I digitized it from tape, but the CD that I put the second WAV file on got corrupted, so I've gotta find my copy of it again.
Nice to see someone else who appreciates the harder side of things. Most trance just doesn't do it for me anymore either...
