Just out of curiousity
1) Are you scared of Iraqi reprisal when war occurs?
2) What party do YOU think represents the best possible future of peace in the Middle East?
3) Who is (was) your favorite Prime Minister?
Once again, just wanted to know. |
1) Well, I am concerned, though it's hard for me to be scared.
2) Hard to choose... In the recent elections, the memorable aspect for me would be how there was hardly a way to decide who's foreign policy is better, and how your choice was based 90% on a party's internal policy... As well as the fact that nobody gave shit about them.
I guess in foreign policy Meretz or Ha'avoda (Labor) would be my choice ... Meretz mainly adressed the issues of relatinos with the palestinians and took a hard hit (as expected) in the last elections, resulting in Sarid, the party leader, quitting his job.
I wouldn't want Meretz as the main party in Israel but I'd like them to have more power.
Labor party ... Well I guess you've heard about them enough, they are the 2nd largest party in Israel (though the are very close to the third, Shinui, after the elections)... Their policy is moderate Left Wing, and their current leader is the most charismatic it had since Itzhak Rabin in my opinion.
3) Hard to choose a favourite ... You have to mention Menahem Begin, who made peace with Egypt and along the way turned from a pretty hard Right- Winged man to nearly a leftist...
You have Itzhak Rabin who dedicated a lot to our country throughout his life, achieved the peace agreements with Jordan and made tremendous efforts in order to help the Palestine people recieve rights.
In the more recent past, we've had Ehud Barak who really recieved the state in a fucked up state and got caught up in a losing battle... I kinda liked him since I was a child and he was a General.
And you have Benjamin Netanyahu... He was hilarious
