Well, I consider myself new...at least a lot newer than a lot of you. My name is Kevin. I'm 16 years old (going on 17 on June 30th), and I goto Senator O'Connor Catholic High School (gr11...honor roll student two years and probably this year if i don't f00k up math & physics). I'm part Italian and consider myself to be very relaxed (probably from all the trance ). While growing up, I followed my brother and sister in listening to rock music. Bands like U2, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins (earlier stuff) were all loved by moi and still are!
If I remember correctly I got INTO electronica (im saying that because didn't know exactly what was trance and what was not at the time) in late 2000. I always loved artists like Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk when I was growing up but never bothered looking beyond them till then. Digitally Imported was a BIG contributer to my love for trance, if it wasn't for them I'd still be listening to robert miles - children most likely. I later (about early 2002 learned about Tranceaddict.com but never really thought it was that great until September when i finally registered and started posting. Since then my like has changed significantly and I owe most of it to tranceaddict! I've learned to be more open minded and accepting of music, ideas and people.
Unfortunetly, I didn't start partying with all of you until late december. It was the classic case of "I have no one to go with and I'm under 19".
anyways...in the future I hope to purchase some REAL dj equipment so I can actually start practicing properly (I'm probably gonna go for some single cd players for now cuz I can't afford to constantly buy vinyls, i'll have to do that at a later time). School is obviously important to me, I *plan* on going to Ryerson for their Graphical Communications Management program, but I'm still open and looking at other programs available to me.
So there I am

LOL, notice how this post has 8 replies and not a single one is -actually- from a real newbie?
Ah well... I suppose I'm newer than almost anyone else, but I'm also a loud-mouthed spamming bastard so you probably all know the nick by now. And I was into electronica during the FastTracker days (i.e. before TA was around).
But anyway, to try and make some actual coherent point out of this message (and really, this entire thread), don't be shy about posting if you're a "lurker," TOTA's are all very friendly people despite the fact that they argue about every single niggling little detail in life no matter how unimportant. Seriously, when I met up with people face to face for the first time there was no trouble getting along (um... except for two people I can think of who kept giving me dirty looks at Viva but never said a word to me, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Were you shy, or just blinded by my off-white pants and bright red shirt?)
...so much for being coherent.
