One thing I dont understand is why when Russia arrests some corporate heads or raids media companies, that is viewed as attack on democracy, while the details of the case and crimes, corruption and/or murder for which those actions are done are ignored. Russian lawmakers have been busy trying to fix things here and there in Russia, though such things as mentioned below dont get any airtime in western media, apart from the Poliktovskaya case arrests, which surprisingly did get little media fanfare in the West:

Just imagine if anyone else is arrested, and lets say they're pro-Western or anti-Putin, well, you'll see it in the Western media as an attack on Russian democracy ...
