I didn't think that Fleming would be able to top Orkidea. I was wrong. The Finn started off energetically, but 1/2 and hour into his set, got too light and melodic. The acid synthlines made for powerful dancing. The intense Goa tracks by Fleming pounded me into submission. Deko-ze was off, not the same impact he had after Tiesto, or at NYE. Things were on the mashy side at the rear bar, but tons of energy on the dancefloor, and the best laser system in Toronto.
Went to the Zone after wards. Three observations:
1. The place is a huge sausage fest. I thought I was at a circuit party.
2. They have no competition in Toronto. What kind of connections do you need to run an after-afterhours? There IS a marketplace for another sketchpad.
3. The place was packed -no room on the dancefloor. It was Guv-packed.
Met the following: Flec (lay off next time), Hardcore Trancer (straightedgers rule), TrancExstasy (Do you work out? LOL, Sober 24-7 (more straightedge making me feel about two inches tall), Mot10n (I'm gonna mount that rock and give it to my wife), Halo20. I didn't bother with the meetup; I just jabbered people's ears off if they came to rest near me
Never had so many people ask me for 'directions' in the club. Maybe it was the dayglo wallet chain.

Orkidea killed as usual
very happy with his set. That guy knows what he's doing.
except im not too sure about what happened toward the end of his set, but he seemed to have lost it for a bit there.

So, I'm now all the way back in K-town having had zero sleep and no time to crash until tomorrow, but I just have to say...
Wow.
- Orkidea was... indescribable. I've heard many of his sets and tracks before but I never would have expected it to be that good up front. AWESOME.
- As stated by LKD, Flemming (that's two "m"s not one, right folks?) went PSY halfway through! w00t! Didn't think he'd be any competition for Orkidea but man, was I wrong. Two TOTALLY sick sets in a row!
- Deko-Ze impressed me with the second half of his set, too. Dunno if he was off for the first half, never seen him spin before then, but I enjoyed everything I can remember from about 5:30 onward, when I got my second wind.
- Unfortunately didn't get to stay for much of Hartec, since I caught the shuttle back home.
Oh, and it was great to meet SO many of you face to face all at once. My apologies to those who were exposed to my horrific in-club conversational/listening skills (including but not limited to Durafei, drewfactor, and another very cute TA who I kept randomly ending up beside but never actually discerned the name because I was trying not to drive her crazy by asking for 12 repetitions of every sentence. So if you're wondering why I stopped talking to you, it's 'cause I was deaf at the time. )
Anyway, once again, SUPER OUTSTANDING AWESOME party, has definitely inspired me to go to MORE parties, although perhaps I will bring earplugs next time I go to Viva.
