My DJM-3000 or DJM-600

I just got my whole setup.

I bought the DJM-3000 because thats all they had in stock and reading from the features the only thing the DJM-3000 was missing the sampler. I could be wrong. I figured I could just buy a standalone sampler that would do more than the DJM-600.

I still have the option of returning the DJM-3000 and getting a 600 and tossing in like $100 more.

This is my first setup and I'm not sure what to do. Any adivce would be appreciated it. I mean so far the only thing I don't like about the 3000 is that its 19"s... I mean it fits fine how I have it setup. Soon I plan on getting dual CD players also.. so I'm pretty sure I'll have a rack setup.

If anyone can point out differences or good reasons to switch I'll consider it. Thanks guys.

If i were you, i'd keep the 3000. It has more FX and options the the 600. it's missing the sampler, which is quite nice to have if you know how to use it. a lot of people don't though, and never bother with it. so, unless your buying the 600 with the explicit purpose to have an onboard sampler, then stick with the 3000. and if you know for sure you are getting a rackmount dual CD deck, then i say keep the 3000 for sure.

I went through the same thing, having the choice of the 3000 now or the 600 in a few months. As you said, the only thing the 600 has over the 3000 is the sampler, but that is worth more than I figured at the time. The extra effects on the x-fader on the 3000 could be nice if you bothered to learn how to use them, which I haven't since I rarely use the x-fader at all. Now that I've been using the 3000 for 6 months, I'm thinknig the rotary volume faders could be worth the extra money, and they're not available on the 600.
Other extras, such as so many microphone inputs, are pretty meaningless.
Being 19" is a bit of a bitch, but if you are getting dual cd's you need that much space between turntables anyway. Getting a 10" mixer with dual cd's will make it pretty hard to rack your setup.
The only real reaosn to switch is that you'll find a lot more 600's anywhere you play than 3000's, but apart from a tiny bit of re-arrangement of the same functions there's nothing to get used to.
all up, i'd say keep the 3000, you won't miss anything
