I am a dj since two years back and one thing confuses me. What is a breakdown? Sorry i tried to search for a similar question but i didn't find any.

I always thought that the part you guys are talking about was the "break", and the breakdown, was the part after the buildup, then everything hits(synths, leads, pads, drums, highhats etc..)
