I don't what happened to them. One day I started mixing and then it just went out. I never have it loud to the point were I go deaf although I did used them very heavily. I bought these bad boys band new and I took good care of them. And yes, I know you can use the left side. Anyway, I'm going to make another purchase of the Sony V6 (or Sony 7506). They are fantastic headphones despite my recent tragedy.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Sound quality-wise, the V700's are a huge leap downwards from your *broken* V6's! (And when I say V6's, I mean V6's - and NOT the V600's! The V600's are EVEN WORSE than the V700's!!) The V700's have no real highs that are worth mentioning. And sure, they deliver more bass - but more bass is NOT better bass!!

Oh did I mention that ultra-loud sound from headphones doesn't come without severe compromises? You see, either you have extremely quiet but high-quality sound, or you have really loud but really crappy sound.

One last thing: If you keep DJing at super-loud volume, you'll very likely become stone-deaf in a matter of minutes!! Sure, you'll be able to beatmatch at the beginning of a gig - but at the end of it, you'll find that your beatmatching becomes way off, because you wouldn't be able to physically hear the beats correctly, if at all!

I've used Sony and i wouldn't recommend it. Try Technics for a change...they're well built and sounds amazing!

damn, my v6's are kinda like my g/f- loose as hell, but they still get the job done. I've had em for about 5 years now and they still deliver solid bass. I'm sure they've deteroiorated a little but thats expected. You musta got a lemon or something, I bet you could get a new pair if you ship them back to Sony or some shit.

I thought V6's = V600. WTF? am i wrong? I've never heard of V6's.

Yes, djmorph, you are wrong. The V6 and the V600 are two completely different headphones! In fact, Sony *tried* to replace the V6 with the V600 about 10 years ago, but a lot of people got dissatisfied with the newer V600's craptacular sound quality, so Sony *unofficially* brought back the V6.

I've never seen a pair of V6's n i can't find them on the sony website or ebay, are they still being made? Does anyone have a picture? What are you talking about "craptacular"? Those headphones have great sound, they just don't cancel out noise as well.

Thumbs down djmorph, if you're talking the V600's...

..."craptacular" means really crappy. The V600's are one of the very worst headphones that I've listened to recently, especially for the $100 price that most authorised Sony resellers sell them for. The V600's deliver hardly any bass, and hardly any upper mids - only lower midrange bloat and screechy sibilant treble. Some headphones that cost only $20 soundly whoop the V600's @$$, not to mention that virtually all headphones that sell for the same $100 price utterly destroy the V600's in sound quality.

And if you don't know what the (older) V6's look like, let alone sound like, try to order the MDR-7506's. Not the V600's - but the 7506's.

The 7506 are usually more expensive than the v6 even though they are the same headphones. If you want to check out the headphones then click on the links below.
