Loveparade Weekend
Well what can i say! amazing, insane, a must! inspriing to say the least!!
My weekend began on the friday.
Friday 8pm
Cafe Shonenbrunn:
We headed down to the park to see Paul van Dyk tear it up for some pre loveparade pre love from above tuneage. Got some drinks and just cruised around as pvd didnt start tile 10, i ended up meeting up with the German trancEaddict crew as it wasnt hard to miss the group of 10 ppl all in vandit shirts and taking up position at the front of the dj "tent"
The setup was nice open air, bordwalk-catwalks over the flower beds and a fountain over to the side.
Paul began at 10, a different pvd then seen before, smiling chatting lauging clapping! looked my himself!
his set was great a very funky set warm up stxles but with some bomb tuneage in there i can remember him dropping Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Paul van Dyk remix) im sure of it! also an old track that must have a new mix, its got a spanish lady singing and the breakdown has spanish guitar saying "bla blah bla fiesta" etc.. its old but this mix is new and it hammers very energetic.
during pauls last track it began to rain and everyone dispersed as the last beats rang out.
then it was off to the next leg of the weekend
Friday 11pm
Collumbiahalle, The Love From Above
Arrive at the event in the rain, the line up was pretty big but mooving fast, this event was bigger than i thought, the main room was as big if not bigger than the horden. The outside and inside where plastered with massive vandit banners and projections. i managed to get a photo in front of the collumbiahalle sign as like pvds collumbia ep Ü
Once in we heaed in there was acrush getting in and the heat was intense! like no other!!! but this proved to be only in the door was as once past this it was normal. the heat was bnad but believe it or not it was coolest on the flor and hotest at the back and on the sides!
pvd rocked the first 2 hours bomg of the night for mine was Paul van dyk & Second sun - Crush!! tunage!
Moguai was up next , he ripped it up, mixing was damn perfect! he dropped tunae after tune! U know Y, and Fischerspooner - emerge (mooguai mix) at this point i saw pvd on stage dncing and punching air!
the highlight was of course TIESTO!! the roar was massive when he cme out and his smile was even bigger!, he had a little tech prob with the mixer durinhg the first track but it was overcome and he played an awsom set, tracks included, as the rush comes, and flight 643 (the crowd went ballistic) those were my highlights.
tiesto finished and pvd was back for a 5 hour set. was weird though he had his laptop setup and seemed to be using it a lot, always looking at it like it was monitoring or even playing the tracks.
he played that fiesto track again an another i need an id for its got a male vocal and the guy sings about "time" a lot any ideas? its massive
he collumbiahalle system was the biggest ive heard rips GAS,HOME and shits on QBH no joke. wehn pvd came out for the 5 hr set its like it went up a notch, i dotn know if it was cause it was coming digitally from the lappy but omg the dynamics of the tracks combined with system nearly made me fall over.
definetly a party to visit again! whos up for next year?
Saturday 2pm
The Loveparade
we headed down to the loveparade not knowing what we were in for. when we got to brandunberg gate i was overcome by goosbumps, finaly i was here!!!!
at first we just took it all in walking through the corwds and following some floats. we managed to see all the floats and walk the entire 4.2km route before settling on some specific floats and followowed them.
The Kremlin/Tiesto float was a biggy so we followed that for a while, but we were there for the day rather than one style of music so b4 long we found ourselves dancing to cheesy dance and weird stuff but it was extremely fun!
About midday the rain began but everyone kept dancing and it only lasted for about 20 mins.
we hung around and follwoed trucks or the rest of the day before taking up position at the monument! got real close.
It was an amazing site when the sun went down and all trucks entered the circle formation circling the monement. we saw chris lieb. pete tong, roger sanchez, westbam and paul van dyk.
westbam dropped tis vs track which was blur,s song 2 and some other well known track, if anyone knows it let me know.
pauls set was great his second track wa mainx - 88 to piano (paul van dyk rework) i couldnt contain myself! he aslo played nothing but you and the fiesto song along with the song with the male vocals which talks about time. hehe
after that it was over and we did the slow walk back to the public transport.
an amazing weekend!
im doing it again when i get the chance i advise u all to do it also if u havent already!!
