Red face bouncing tables...

I have a huge problem with skipping. Unfortunately my setup resides on a very 'bouncy' dancefloor. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for shock absorbance. (I can only crank up the weight so much)

thanks

do a search for a more detailed description

but some one said something about tin cans and elastic bands stops it pretty well!

oakenfold puts half a squash ball under each foot apparently!

If you've ever seen any of the Big Beach Boutique footage Fatboy Slim uses squashes balls as well. Must be a reliable solution because pros like Fatboy Slim and Oakey are using them in superclubs with their massive sound systems

I've seen this method used a lot and works well: get 4 rolls of packing/packaging tape and put rubber bands across it's diameter in several different directions so that they criss/cross over the centre... put one under each foot

Mix Master Mike had the entire setup loaded with springs for his tour.
both tables, mixer all bouncing in unison as he scratches...doesnt seem to help you.
but its an alternative.

use sand. get a box (or a box lid so it wont be too deep) put sand in it, a cloth over it, and the turntables on it. i heard this works, but havent tried it yet

i've spun on a sand system
the tables were hung from the ceiling
so the whole box moved

there are these things you can buy,
they are little rubber things that look
like 1/2 of tennis balls, you put 1 under each
corner of the table, it will absorb the shock
and raise the tables up above their legs

sand

I don't know how good that sand thing sounds. I know you put a cloth over the sand to protect your turntables, but I wouldn't want sand that close to my turntables and mixer. One accident could fuck up your whole system- sand seems like the messiest solution.

I've done the packaging tape/rubberband thing and it worked great.
