You're from NYC???????
I'm sure you will be dissapointed compared to what you will/have experienced on the Eastern seaboard.
To give you some idea of how it is here, we get excited when someone like George Acosta comes nearby haha. Beema called him a cuban cheese vendor or something like that...but I think he's not bad. The above post is mainly to lift my spirits since I'm almost certainly not going to Miami again this year for Ultra etc. Dallas gets a decent share of talent sometimes. Some friends of mine went to see PVD recently, but I could not go for various reasons... Austin is actually a pretty great city to live in. The best one in Texas IMHO. I don't know if you've ever been to Houston, but you can hardly breath because of the horrible air. It's worse than LA (I've been so I can compare), and smells like a mixture of stale fritos and toe jam. Bush let the industries write their own pollution standards in this state when he was Gov. I'm still waiting for there to be a club like Roxy or Glow or Space or The Quest to come here....
I made a post for someone who asked about Austin here:

(I just moved to Austin)
Hey what's up man?? I'm assuming you're a dude haha. Well, the scene is actually sputtering at the moment. Back 2 years ago, or even 1 year ago things were much better here in terms of top Dj talent comming through the area. The big promotor here Ark is pretty much out of business (practically forced by the pigs, I mean cops). ATB spun here about 2 years ago (my first party), which started my trance lovin' ways. Paul van Dyk has spun at the Austin music hall..he was also recently in Dallas...Sasha also at the music hall (missed that one). Dj tiesto was at club element last Oct. (awesome) They used to get good DJs there, but now that place is downhill I think. I saw him at Zen Fest in Dallas as well. I don't really like clubs if there is only some lame ass Dj spinning to be honest with you. ohh...a great place to look for party info is www.texasbeatz.net
Also a local record shop called Alien records on 5th street is a great place to pick up some flyers, or some vinyl or some CDs.
It's really too bad about the cops...!!!!!
Anyways, a great local Dj that I love is RON-E...he spins a hard style of trance that is a bit different from Tiesto's style, but still good. He's a bit closer to Marco V.
Will you be moving to one of the finer military bases here??? They have one rather large one in San Antonio, and also at Ft. Hood. WE used to have a huge Air Force base in Austin, but now it's an INt. Airport. Email me or PM me, and I will try my best to give you help and advice.

= Wassuuuuupppppppp
And ignore my sig if you don't agree with it....I'm just being silly.
I have cousins uncles etc in the military.
