what do producers DO???...

alright so as everyone here is aware, with the whole threat of L-Vee leaving and the lightning records shut down it becomes very apparent that the DJ's that are just that, spinning in clubs, are the ones making all this money. So that leaves the question...what do producers do to support themselves? are they really that bad off or can they live comfortable off of their productions. thoughts please...

most of the producers also DJ, so thats what they do hehe

although most of the top producers have no need to do it, they just do it for fun/to promote their name so ppl buy the tunes

well you make the most money djing
but if you wanna become a big dj who can pull in the bucks you really need to be producing tracks to get yourself known and to develop a new style your own and the such.
so producing rewards itself in other ways.

yeah...ppl like ralphie b have fulltime jobs in order to support themselves. Not everyone can just produce and make enough money to support themselves...so they work odd jobs or deejay if possible. Danny Howells worked in a mental hospital for 9 yrs and most of those yrs..he deejayed on weekends and worked there during the day.

Well I don't think there is a stereotypical "producer" job except maybe being a DJ?!? They probably do whatever work they can.. like the rest of the non-uber rich population...

perhaps if people would actually have some respect and show some decency by buying music this wouldn't be such an issue?
