Jordan - worthy of praise

I have always been a fan of the way the hassimite monarchy has run Jordan. Just today Jordan foiled two terror plots planned out by iraqi agents.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm..._iraq_terrorism

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2906757.stm

now, it is true one can argue that they are only doing this out of their own interest especially since most the plots were also targeting them however Jordan has a long history of trying to uproot terrorist structure within its own countries. I belive countries such as Syria would benifet deeply if they went after terror orginizations that not only reside in their countries but also use them as a head base and platform of operations.

One of the plots allegedly involved a plot to bomb a luxury hotel frequented by Americans and other Westerners. if this turns out to be true, will you guys admit that the iraqi regime is a terrorist one?

Yes, the regime has terrorized its own ppl as one of its deplorable means to stay in power all these years. However, I do not know yet whether these bombings in Jordan would have been planned had the US not elected to invade Iraq.

-Izzy, look at it this way. If you don't bother the dog, it won't bite you. If you do, he will. That's the case now with Iraq and probably the muslims. Now that America has invading Iraq, and seen that civilians are dieing, an uprage is building up against the Americans and British is if you will, not forgetting the Israelis. So basically, this outrage, is building a radical anger tours the US, leading to terrorist acts, in which they base it among their religion, where fighting the enemie and dieing to defend the muslum world, will lead them to heaven. I said this before, what the US is doing will lead to more and more terrorist attacks besides anger. So Izzy, you have to look at it not as if Iraq regime is or was terrorists, you have to look at it why are their actions like that.. and as more times passes by, we will see more of this terrorists attacks, which will be justified for the obvious reason, but NOT that they are terrorists just because they fill like attacking.

Well, since Iraq is at war with the US, I wouldn't consider attacking american targets as terrorism. However, I must admit that attacking civilians is really low.

But I've encountered many dogs in my life where I am just walking by minding my own business, not bothering the dog, and the bastard jumps on all four starts hounding and racing towards me. Now what to I do, just appease it let em bite an arm hoping that it won't kill me or break something else, or should I just throw a rock perhaps or squirt some water at the bitch to make her stop and think twice?

I'll tell you I never tried the former option, only the latter and I can tell you dogs they stopped real quick on their assualt upon me. And another curious thing, if I would stroll upon the area again and they tried to jump me once more I'd do the same thing, and after a while guess what, they wouldn't even bark... just go coware and hide.

-Well, that's different, Im not talking about the dog that's just lurking for someone to bite. And really I was using the dog situation as an example to the follow up which I had explained later. And even if what you said it's right, it doesn't even fit the current situation with Iraq.. disregarding AL Quaeda, but whom they also had their view of why they did it, but the topic here is the current positions of Iraqui's and muslims as a whole. So I could also use this as an example. If you jump into the dog's property, he will bark and maybe bite you if you keep getting closer to the dog.. and that's basically what the muslims position is.

Hey its a good analogy and you know it. Obviously your refute made no sense to me, and I'm sure many others. Perhaps your writing in code. But following up with your new analogy - "If you jump into the dog's property, he will bark and maybe bite you if you keep getting closer to the dog..".

Let me counter with this.

Obviously we've all jumped into yards... or just came close to yards with fanatic rabid dogs on the otherside (ohh this analogy works perfect! .. only the smart ones get that comment; heres a hint who is the dog repersenting in this analogy?). But for the matter of imagery, we'll say you actually jumped the fence and came into the yard and started approaching the dog. Now tell me which of the following will work to shut-up the damn rabid bitch: A. You go squirt her with your new supersoaker 5000 till she runs away or is quiet, or barring that just pelt her with your new found rock. Or B. You jump back over the fence and run (Which we all know will make the dog bark up all night long in excitement so you can never sleep again for the period of three days as it celebrates its victory).

This time I chose the former, as the latter seems very ineffective in shutting up the dog. If you jump over the fence, you've already angered it - by jumping back over your not going to make the dog shut-up. And to end this point, I will say if you don't think this is a good analogy. Then wait till I pelt you with rocks and wet you with my supersoaker 5000 everytime you write an analogy that doesn't work - you'll see you'll quickly stop doing it. It's how we work, were humans.

oh oh and another thing: imagine the above analogy without the fence. In scenario B, if you run away you know the dog is going to go running after you, probably barking its way till its teeth taste your tender meat and bones. So facing that image, I really do think those supersoakers at $19.99 at the local walmart are a real steal.

Yoepus, first of all, I was trying to make an overall example.
Secondly, you took it so serious that you came across every situation there is.. which is totally off my actual point. You took it too serious, and deep on something that was just part of my MAIN argument.

Ya but this example was the foundation of your overall argument. By disproving it I disproved basically your whole notion that people will become angrier if attacked, its not always true. In fact leaving Iraq as I proved could be much worse then if they do not leave right now.
