You are definately right Vanfecto...Ibiza is not what it used to be. For a couple of years now it hasn't been the same. It has gotten way too commercialized and a lot of the people that go their still aren't there as much for the music like it used to be, they just go there to get annihilated bc Ibiza has become synonymous with drugs. of course not everyone is like that burt thats just my opinion of how its gotten. For a lack of a better comparison Ibiza has become a destination for the Mtv type spring breakers. So it has now become one big commercialized keg party.
I have been going there for years and year after year it has been getting worse. Unfortunately thats what happens when a scene gets more exposure and becomes more popularized.
A place I like to go that has the same type feel as Ibiza but is a little more refined(not as crazy as Ibiza was) is Punta del Este in Uruguay! They get a lot of big name Dj's there in the high season, but sadly it does not compare to what the talent that Ibiza gets.
The best place i would say for electronic music is Miami during the Winter Music conference, its like all the Ibiza parties and Dj's compressed into 1 week of non stop partying. By far Miami during that week has the most Dj's and parties I have ever seen in my whole life, its truly 1 week of bliss for electronica lovers

Been to Ibiza the last 3 summers, they were all nice, but I think the Winter Music Conference in Miami could be much better. We're saving money already for next year.

Ibiza is a great experience, especially when you go there for the first time. We have some beautiful memories from the island but won't go back there the next years....

The whole scene has lost its charm.ibiza is being over run with cheese heads, just like the industry.

WMC for sure man, i looked at Space's lineup, to die for. I guess my only gripe is that its only a week, and not sort of like a season the way Ibiza is. I almost had a chance to go but school dates dont lineup. Neway I definitely think its Mtv's exposure to Ibiza thas a large problem. I mean the only reason I wanted to even go to Ibiza is fo the music, and the landscape was secondary. Now Mtv has cashed in and started to promote and i guess the running of the cheese has begun.

WMC is good and all but nothing in comparison to ibiza.....im sure the parties in ibiza are just as good if not better.....not to mention you prolly do not have to deal with all the traffic......and imo the whole wmc is way way way way to comercialized now....

I think there should be a major reconstruction in the scene. Wrong word..how about RELOCATION! The NEW place for TOP Trance music is CANADA! Its NEW here, thus not commercialized.
