I stayed at the flying pig. It's a hostel, real cheap, like $40 or so a night, but an awesome place to stay for a bit. The one thats downtown though, not the other one. You need to book ahead, or show up really early. Even though it is a hostel, you get all sorts of cool people from around the world. A bar and lounge on the main floor creates a real homey atmosphere. I wasn't into the music scene when I was there, so don;t know about parties. Heineken tour was ok, boring propaganda for 30 mins or so, but all the beer you can drink after for like 45 mins.....only$4 if I remember correctly. Also, theres an awesome park, forget the name, but check that out. Red light district is ok, scary women though, some hotties. Sex show was boring, but worth it for the experience. Go to the one with the cock and balls fountain outside of it. Stay awy form the museums, boring and waste of dough. Stick to the 4* or 5* star pot only, worth the little extra $$. First time there stayed 3 days, second time 6 days. I wouldn't plan to stay in amsterdam for longer than 5 days or so, gets real boring. Definately travel somewhere else if you can, train is real good and cheap too. Have an awesome time!!!
