Im about friggin fed up...

Ok heres the deal i can do awesome leads/pads ambiences what ever in my productions but my rhythm patterns suck ass......i mean they suck ass im not even gonna post them.....Or maybe im expecting to much out of my self.. But i listen to BT and think damn my shit sucks ass......

Well, that depends... what are you using now?

And no wonder you're fed up, I don't think it's wise to try and compare yourself to BT, at least at this stage.

I seem to be getting better, although my percussion sounds more housey than progressive for some reason...

Why are you sampling it if you have it. Why don't you just record the midi notes and then send them back to your kurzweil thingy and have the audio sent back into logic. You get way more control this way.

Here's my tip. Think of a song, then let your mind run free untill soon, it sounds completely different. Then jump on your computer and get those notes down.

Location: what's the difference

Key to programming breaks a la BT:

Think in terms of inside and outside layers. The inside layer has all your busy jigga-jigga stuff, and the outside layer (i.e. the louder punchier one) is BOOM, KAK, - -, BOOM-KAK. The inside layer should be filtered, like only highs or only mid & a bit of highs.

Examine the original breakbeats (James Brown, etc.)
