I am looking for a program that enables you to remove vocals from a Mp3/Wav. Anyone ? Thank you for your help.

it's pretty fucking hard
there was a vocal remover about, but only worked if the vocals came from one channel, which doesn't really happen anymore
it's possible in a studio with the right engineer though

It's possible but it isn't any bit easier in studio than it is at home.

Getting rid of the vocals means getting rid of the frequencies the vocals use... now, if there are melodies/drums/any other sounds using the same frequency range (like there usually are) you're bound to erase other audio with the vocals as well.
Either that, or leaving some traces of the vocals to the tune.

...as Guyver likes to describe on the Tidy board, trying to remove the vocals from a track is a little like trying to get all the raw ingredients out of a baked cake. Could you really extract the egg, flour and sugar that goes into baking one, having been just given a cake? I think not.

It's the same with music, it's insanely difficult to remove vocals from a track. As someone said, you kill the frequencies that the vocals sit on, and you kill other parts of the track such as drums and synths. However I think what you meant is how do you EXTRACT vocals from an MP3 or WAV, as it getting the acapella. This is exactly the same as the afforementioned cake theory. Put simply you can't.

its difficult as fuck, but its possible with the right software. you'd have to be a genuis to pull it off and not lose any frequncies or additional sounds.

in rock songs i can i make it seemless, maybe a odd vocal here and there, but generally gone

but in trance music, its fucking almost impossible, so dont even bother, ud just be wasting ur time

my only suggestion is to reconstruct the song without the vocals, either doing a mix of it in fruityloops or summin

What those vocal programs are simply doing is taking the difference between 2 channels and filter out the rest, since vocals don't tend to have any great stereo seperation or panning. It works in some cases where the audio source is simple, but in most cases it wont, and as it's been mentioned above, there's no way to seperate the frequencies of each individual instrument, as the frequency spectrum is 'shared'.

is it possible to remove vocals without losing all the precious sounds from a hip-hop song?

and theres a plugin on the www.analogx.com website, thats a vocal remover, but it isnt great
