it's -of course- very very common to use sampling

If you want to incorporate a little vocal in your track (ooh - yeah), you can't drag that out of a synth. If you really really want to use a rubber ducky squeek (ahem) you can sample one and use it on a cheesy hardhouse track. Or if you like making kickdrums on your pc for example with a wave editor, you can load it into a sampler afterwardw. + tons more uses you can figure out

I don't think sampling in triton has the functionality of gigastudio, but it's decent enough to get around.

a practical application would be you bring your triton to a live gig.

before hand you set up all your samples in their specific keyranges onto one patch in your Triton.... boom... you got your own sound assuming you made some nice samples.

sampling and re-sampling is very common (used to be more so).
it tends to be a lost art these days ... many producers are using stock sounds from programs because they couldn't be asked to make their own shite..... if you do make your own, it is a good way to separate yourself from every other producer out there.
