Recording from Line-In

my computer doesnt record line-in from the mixer! Total recorder doesnt pick it up! The sound is played through my speakers though. The only thing that works is plugging it into the microphone jack and recording that shit with some other mic recording program! help me!

I don't know that program, but I use Goldwave and you have to go into the settings to select what you're recording (line in, wave audio, microphone, etc.) Maybe you should consult the help file about it, because if the sound plays through your speakers it's capable of being recorded.

a line signal isn't the same as a mic signal... you're gonna need to put it into a special soundcard that supports line inputs

S-a-M-u-E-l, look in your recording program for an option that selects your recording source. It's most likely set to the mic input rather than the line-in.

If you are using window, then the default setting for you line in, is mute. Go to your volume control panel and make sure that your line is isn't muted.
