try Virtual Turntables, works just like a regular CD-mixer, only bad thing is it has no recording option, but if you just use a different app for recording in the background, and select it to record "what-you-hear" in the soundcard, its works great!

Virtual Turntabel is by no doubt the best MP3 mixing proggie there is.

I have 2 soundcards and a external mixer and then it looks like real.
But not as cool as real mixing.

But if you have only one soundcard it is stil possible but not as good but that problem is with every program.

dude. in atomixmp3.. in the preferences section of the program....theres an option to automatically callibrate volumes between traxx....
It basically matches the volume output of the track thats playin....

I mix a lot with MP3's and record my mixes as well. I currently use mixvibes pro 3.0. That program emulates dual cd changers to the T! Mixvibes pro 3.0 is the best program that I have seen for mixing mp3s or other types of formats. It has 16 channels, supports 4 sound cards, scratching, looping, sampling, recording (you can edit your recorded mix), and more. However, I'm currently having a minor problem with the record feature. After I record my mix, it sounds out of beat, kind of like the recorder did not record accurately to the live mix. But, anyway, other than the record mix, that program is the best. Now, the record mix might work fine on your PC. Now, about your clicking problem. Let me explain to you a little about RAM and sound cards when using such "MP3 programs". First, looping, sampling, recording all take up CPU and RAM power, not to mention are also effected by the sound card that you use. I know that for a fact. I have used and spen countless hours with different mixing programs--mixman studio, virtual turntables, bpm studio professional, etc. I originally had a PC with a 266mhz CPU, 48mb of RAM. I couldn't really mix much until I bumped up the memory. Then, the integrated sound card would not work with certain features of programs. SO, I decided to upgrade the PC,, I built an 700mhz athlon with 128mb of RAM, and added a sound blaster live. The difference was day and night. Currently, I have upgraded the RAM to 320.mb, but it is still not enough. I am convinced that when you are doing HD mixing and recording, MAC's are the machines to do the job. I have friends who worked in the recording industry, they tell me that part of the problem is that IBMs are not that great with multimedia,, and I agree. For example, I had BPM studio professional installed on my machine. That thing is a resource hog. Don't get me wrong, that programs is phat, but I was unable to record simply because it took to much RAM (even with 320mb). I have not found a way to get around that recording issue with mixvibes, and not even the software programmer himself has been able to give me a stable answer as to why I'm having the recording problem. From experience, BPM studio is the most professional (stable, features), but takes to much memory. Mixvibes wins hands down for a great all around program. I would say that to try a different program than what you've got. If that does not fix the problem, add more RAM (how much memory do you have?), and if you have sufficient RAM, most likely is the sound card. I would say for a non-professional sound card, sound blaster live is the best. Hope that helps. Email me if you have any other questions at [email protected]

Bachatu -> Thanks for the advice. I have 128Mb RAM. The thing is that these clicks should be "temporary noise," i.e. the final mix should be perfect. For example in WinAmp when you decode MP3 to WAV, there may be some intermittent noise in the process but in the end it all comes out fine. Here, however, when I change the BPM, the beats become "rushed" a little, they skip in some places and are stronger in others. This doesn't go away, it's "permanent."

Paul -> I just d/l'ed MixMeister, thanks. I have yet to learn it, for now it seems that the customization tools are a bit limited, but maybe they're hidden. Can I set the general BPM for the whole mix a priori, for example? I tried moving those boxes to arrange the mix my own way, for example to make one song start in a different position, but with limited success. However, the sound is much better there than in AtomixMP3.

Personally i prefer Traktor. I have used all the other and i u just wanna mix tracks this is the best prog. Mixmeister is good for creating compliations but its hardly mixing. Get Traktor it rulez

I personally think that's the best relyable software out there right now I and I can't think of something else that could replace it...

Damn, that screen looks CONFUSING! So many knobs, switches, and buttons, how do you learn to use all that, or does it have some automatic volume/beat matching so you don't have to use them?

Also can you tell me if it can output to .WAV and whether the downloadable version has any serious limitations.

Nah its well easy to use there aren't that many buttons really. And yeah it does beat match it 4 u but u still have to have a good ear 4 ch00ns that go well together, as it doesnt do everything 4 u which is cool. And it can outout to .wav using the top left record button. and you can get a crack to change the d/l version (limits use to 20mins) to full version.
