RAVE ACT has NOT been passed...PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!

Once a bill is passed, it is listed as being passed and on what day.

If you go to www.congress.gov and look at the actual bill which was passed:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query...p/~c108C74kDG::

There's no mention of the Rave Act, if it were piggybacked, as bills often are, then it would appear on not only the Amber Alert Bill's page, but it would be listed on the Rave Act page as well.

To see that while the Rave Act was Presented on February 13, 2003, it has not as of yet been passed into legislation, click here

Furthermore, I wrote to my local congresswoman via e-mail and the response i got was that my e-mail was one of quite a few she has gotten today regarding the matter, and that the people that said the bill was attatched to the AMBER Act are making it up, and that no such thing ever happened. basically, in the end, she said that this is some money-making scheme set up by someone who made a false proposition page that showed the RAVE Act copy/pasted onto the end of the AMBER Act, but no such thing ever happened.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't give any money to anyone asking for it to "fight this cause." This bill (RAVE Act) has not been passed...yet. it may one day, but for now, it has not been passed, and for someone to make money off of saying it has just awful.

P.S. I know that Dancesafe and other sites have been saying that it has passed, but I'm telling you, if you go to www.thomas.loc.org , you will be able to see that there is NO PROOF of it being passed, or even attatched to the AMBER Act/Bill. If it had been, it would be listed on the page where the Amber Act/Bill was passed.

This is very interesting indeed. I have an army of friends who are freaking out over the so called "passing" of this bill. I will certainly point them to the information you have provided. One thing though is how could so many people who believe it WAS passed be wrong and therefore misinformed?

That's because the RAVE Act is not a bill, it is one of the amendments in section 600 or so of the bill (with some slight alterations from the original RAVE Act). And yes, it is now officially in effect, as President Bush just signed it yesterday.
