I mean, I havent witnessed PvD, Oakenfold, Thrillseekers or whomever
starting a thread at TA where they thank us for our support!
That just made them go up many steps in my eyes, thanking and
keeping a relation to the fans. |
u're so true!
altough they create some of the finest tracks i've ever heard, they are kinda close to the community; so the love for their tracks and the respect for the men behind them mix into a feeling that some get as a general "hype"; but u don't have to see it in that way i think, just enjoy their tracks and support them this the best hing u can do

come on! there are a lot of trance sites/forums on the net. you want a dj to go to every site/forum and thank the people. that's why they have there own website en many times "thanks" are given there. |
Yees, there is alot of sites online but Tranceaddict is a big one.
Im not asking that every DJ visits every site there is, posting
a little thread and thanking. What Im asking is that the artist in
question shows some gratitude. They can do it in alot of ways, one
"favourite way" is to add an unreleased track to a cd/vinyl.
For me, this is worth lots more. Then the DJ/Producer has contact
with the community, getting a feel for what people think about them
which to me is worth alot. Then they arent thoose untouchable persons
making a living out of making me feel good, then they are people just
like you and me showing a deeper side, showing something of themselves.
Posting comments on their own website is good, but also very uninteresting. I think I have visited AVBs website 2 or 3 times at
most just because it doesnt have that "feeling" over it, I dont wanna
hang out at forums that just give out that "lets hype! lets hype!"-feeling.
Im not asking that DJs swarm over this place posting a thread per week
about how dissapointed they were of the fact that they forgot a certain
record, that the mixer broke down or whatever but just that they keep
in touch and give something back to the community.
They produce music, we buy it. But it can be so much more!
A prime example is Dave Dresdens comments on this board.
But ofcourse, DJs and producers are busy but that doenst have anything
to do with it. If they have time and can spare it I would like to see
them sometimes use it to give something back in other ways then "chats"
with certain websites. But ofcourse, thats up to them.
A DJ can be how big and good he wants in my eyes, but when he looses
contact with the crowd and the fans, just going around doing gigs
and never looking back, thats when I loose interest in that person.

I personally think that G&D mix of Mindcircus is there best tune, all the praise they do get however I think is well deserved, I mean, when I think about it, how is it possible for a human being to produce such a wonderful track like "As the rush comes", I'm still bemused
