Instrumental vs. Vocal

Well, not really a vs. thread

I was wondering... how much vocal trance do you all throw in your mixes. Like ratios or something. Or do you just not worry about if the tracks are vocal or not.

I try to play at most 1 vocal track for 3 instrumentals. But, what I try to do, is play "teasers" through out my mix. Like, I'm in the middle of one instrumental track, and I have a vocal track that I"m going to be playing later on the other deck and kind of just mix in the catch phrase / melody... kinda to get the anticipation going for what's coming next... I like doing this for my fav. vocal tracks.

Anyway, just wondering what you guys do...

Also i've tought to this question sometimes...
Mainly i prefer instrumental tracks so i usually play more instrumentals tracks than vocal tracks but it's only a personal taste and i think that fixed ratios vocal/instrumental aren't good, if you want spin in a set only vocal/instrumental or 5 vocal for 1 instrumental because think it's cool there is no problem.

Depending on what mood i'm playing. If I'm playing uplifting trance, 70% of the tracks are vocals. If i'm playing techno stuff, 10%

ofcuz, it's not like that's always like that, It changes (DUH)

too many vocals in the style i play (prog) usually doesnt sound good, can come off cheesey and repetitive. if you keep it low, then when the vocals do come in, it sounds interesting and new especially a track like junkie xl beauty never fades!
