Re: Is Trance music Lowest Common Denominator, or is it more?

In fact, we Trance fans are a bit elitist in protecting our music from becoming "low-brow" entertainment, denouncing and boycotting anything that attempts to "sell-out". We are saved from passification of media conglomerates!
Tell me what ya think... |
I think what you wrote in that last paragraph pretty much sums it up for the whole trance community. I have always found the world of trance, and electronica in general, fascinating when it comes to this "non-hype phenomenon", as i like to call it. It's like we are all saying "TELL EVERYONE YOU CAN ABOUT TRANCE....SPREAD IT TO THE WORLD!!!!!" But then as soon as a song gets "big" (i.e. Rapture, Silence, etc) it's 'selling out' and shit like that. I understand the principle behind it, but sometimes, I just don't get it. But anyway, I understand your point...great post!!!!
