I've seen some of his tracklist for his live shows and some just seem like he plays dated tracks. The tracklist are not as good as what he pulls off on ASOT. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about his live performances, if been, and how they would compare it to ASOT?

if there was no ASOT u wouldnt say he played over-dated trax cause on ASOT he plays them so early, before we even known them!

Yeah, i know that, but why doesn't he play those newest songs in his live sets. When I mean dated, i mean dated for him.
Seeing armin live is better than ASOT armin... that's for sure...
if it's livesets you mean... then yes livesets are better than ASOT... doesn't matter if the tracks are dated or not...it's how good the vibe of the set is as a result of the tracklist...e.g. energetic one as opposed to a zzzzzzzz ASOT one

The 'live' ASOT's aren't actually live though. So they are pre recorded from sets Armin did sometimes over a month ago - hence not many 'up front' tunes in them.

Most of the ASOT are live! The second hour contains a lot of new tracks he hasn't played in livesets before.
Armin is in the chatroom during a live broadcast (most of the times). If he's not live, he mentions it a week before or during the start of a show.

Freezel what golden_Rich ment was that when there is a live set in ASOT it's usually a set which is about a month old.
Hence it can't have the newest tunes from ASOT a week before

Armin needs to experiment more. On ASOT he does that quite often playing both progressive and techno at times. Why he doesn't try this live is probably explained by the fact that the crowds he plays to don't want anything but trance, and leave him little to nothing room to experiment on. As harsh as it may sound, Armin should really stop caring so much about the crowd's expectations, and play different genres when he feels like it.

OK, hard day at work here
Then he's right. If a liveset is on, it's quite old.
We hear tunes he doesn't play in the show anymore.

WOw, I didn;t know that, I thought ASOT's were prerecorded sets in the studio and he was just sitting at the mic talking as they were playing. I honestly would find it difficult to talk and mix at the same time, especialy throwing in jingles and commercials and shit.
