Not to insult you, but how do you know that it is your cord that is broken??? this is the first I've heard of a cord breaking on a HDJ1000 in over 500 pairs we've sold.

yup, when you wiggle the cord at the plug end, it goes into both ears. if you leave it without touching it, it comes out of one ear.

so it must be the wiring in the plug.

Take off the 1/4" adapter and plug your headphones into like a portable CD player or a walkman, do they do the same thing???

yep

the cord has been attempted to be rewired anyway now so i either need to get it rewired manually or get a brand new cord...i am just trying to find some place that actually has them in stock.

Oh damn, it is was the plug itself, it is very easily fixable by taking the plug apart and re soldering the loose wire. That's all it really is, just a connection on the ground wire is bad. But I imagine you took the wires out from inside of the ear pieces them selves? Find any electronics store near you, like here in the US we have Radio Shack, and they should have a universal replacement cord, use that for now and order OEM one from Pioneer. Good Luck, Cheers...

thanks for your advice.

actually we did rewire the plug part (we didnt touch the inside of the phones). however it still didn't fix it properly, one side was still stronger then the other, and there was not much bass out of the proper ear. so we thought f*ck it and get a new cord.

thats great that a standard 3.5 cable will work!! i cant believe i didnt think of that...are you absolutely sure these will work with pioneers?!?

Sounds like you put too much solder on one of the contacts to the plug. Yeah any 3.5mm universal cable should do, I'd look for one that has goldplated contacts and plug.
