that 2 second gap between tracks on a burned cd...help!

ok so my car radio now plays mp3's so i made a burned cd with a lot of tracks on it in mp3 form. well i clicked on "disc at once" before i burned it thinking that it would remove the puase between tracks like it does when i burn wav files onto a cd. normally i wouldnt care but the tracks are ones from livesets and that 2 seconds of silence between songs is going to annoy me big time. i am using "easy cd creator 5" to make these cds. anyone have any idea of what i might do to fix this problem. thanks...

Well, if I'm understanding you correctly, your car stereo is capable of reading data (MP3) discs, now....not just regular audio CDs, right?

If so, to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to avoid the gap, because the unit is not reading the disc in the same way that it reads an audio CD. If someone can prove otherwise, I'd be happy to hear what they have to say. But, IMO, the 2 second gap is a small price to pay for the ability to have 10-15 hours of music on one disc

you got me right, it's just a pain to have a bunch of tracks from a really good liveset seperated by an annoying 2 second gap of silence while you are driving. i guess it is a small price to pay for having a huge amount of music on one disc. hopefully someone will have some insight to help me on this.

are you sure the cd's geting burnt as a data cd not a audio cd? say its a liveset mp3 are you burning it as one file? try just burning the 1 liveset mp3 to a cd and see what happens then

Just look for a program that joins mp3 and then join all your tracks in 1 big file.
I use MP3 Trackmaker, available at the famous download site

You're welcome

Yeah man its just something you have to deal with on them. I go the same deal happening with mine as well.
Just wait till you try to put a cd in there with copy protection on it. That will really annoy the hell out of you. Blank & Jones album 'Substance' wont even get registered on the deck i have in my car, and its an alpine for crying out loud

Alpines are a pain in the ***. My dad has one, I hate it.. He wanted to sell it to me, I said no way, I'll keep my 2002 pioneer deck.

With audio CDs, its easy to remove the 2nd gap. As for mp3 CDs, u got me mate, I've never burned one for a car stereo b/c I don't have a mp3 deck.

As for audio CDs, get something like Nero burning rom, and when you're making the playlist, right click on all the tracks except the first, and select gap time to be 0, instead of the default 2. In newer versions, there's even an option on the main screen to remove the 2 second gap from all tracks.
