I like it
Very summer-y sound to it overall, fits nicely with the sun shining in from my window. Great attention to detail too, I like all those little things that go on the background... it's something I can never do right.

Only 2 things:
I'd like to see some more percussions, the drums seem a bit basic. And I don't really like the sound of that bass either.

I could definitely see myself remixing this

Does that name mean something, btw?

Basically really good, i also liked the things you do in the background (that's what i usually do as well )

The breakdown reminds me alot of Misja Helshoot's remix of Recitation, i already knew it before the melody started!

More pattern variation won't harm.. and making the synth less metal and nicer to the ears in some places can definitely help.

- Alex.

thanks for replying guys

ill add some persussion and try to change the sound of the bassline, i wanst too happy with that either
ill see what i can do about the synth, i think youre right alex

but im having huge problems with playing the song in reason
"computer too slow to play song"
and that happens after the first 32 kicks:S and from that point every 2 or 3 seconds hehe

and nik, would be great if you want to make remix.. let me know if you really want to do it. ill send you a midi file of the melody and stuff

and the name does mean something hehehe. its maori language:

tohunga = priest, wizard, general expert
waikikamukau = mythical new zealand town somewhere in a remote forest or something
its amazing what you learn when you visit NZ

thnx again for replying

john

yeah, the bass could deffinitely be better. i would make it more dancy, you know? its kinda plain. and that weird bass effect is kinda gross. it doesnt fit. nice breaks! could use some more percussion. nice pads man! The notes of the lead are wonderful. so relaxing. I would deffinitely beef up that lead. It seems lacking. Throw in some delay and reverb, definitely. Nice use of effects. 7/10

I really like the melody, the only thing I don't really like is that weird bass delay or part where two different bass notes cross each other. I also use reason, I wouldn't mind trying to do a remix if you would like. I know all you have heard of my stuff is that little snipet I posted a while ago, but let me know. You should start making stuff more regularly, 6 months is waaaaaaay toooo loooonnng

Cool

i like the feel of the tune a lot, melody a little bland but it works really well. the percs seem quite amateury and quiet. the whole piece seems to lack a lot of treble, i think with a bit of work it could be an excellent tune
