Jp8080/Modwheel

Ok, so I've got this lil problem.
My midi keyboard doesn't have a Modulation wheel, just a Pitch wheel.
So I can't use the LFO2 section on my JP which sucks.
Is it possible to trigger it with out a Mod wheel?
Can I do it within the sequencer (which is Fruityloops)?

I'd be greatfull for any answer.

LateRz!

Although I don't have a JP 8080 or fruity loops I got some ideas which might help you :

The main thing is that you need something to send the midi parameters for the modwheel.

1. You can draw in some sequencers not only the notes but also midi controller data from 0-127 ( Logic, Reason, ...perhaps Cubase and fruity, too ? ). Draw some curves for the modwheel and play this midi file through a device ( your soundcard )which as a midi connection to your JP 8080.

2. Years ago there was a software device which could make your joystick send certain midi controllers, don't temember the name I am afraid.

3. The expensive solution would be to buy a controller with assignable buttons and wheels, which you could use to control your synth.

4. On many synths you can chose different modulation sources for the LFO2, perhaps you can make it react on velocity or aftertouch or expression.

hope you can use some of these ideas

Cant gat in details, since i dont use anyhard synth yet, but Fruity has that midi outputs, that im almost sure that already comes with a JP8000 config preset. If u link it right, u can do anything with its signal just like u could with any In-Fruity Synth, and if the built-in LFO dont match your needs, u can put one LFO filter on the synths' FX channel...

An interesting question, indeed, guess most people must hav a proplem like that when they buy a hardsynth. When u solve it, can u tell us how u did, plz?

Ps: Would it be possible to use the Pitch Wheel as a Modulation Wheel? It sound like logical solution.
But it probably wont work. heh.

HEHE The JP-8000 Preset works fine in mine. I guess cause I got the JP-8000 not the 8080. The only problem I have is in trying to trigger the ribon controll..

If you look in your manual it should say what the controller number is for anything that can be trigered through midi. lets you controll almost every parameter of your synth with fruity. SUX i got no Manual for mine...
